Envision Greater Fond du Lac’s Raina Lyman receives Entrepreneurship Development Professional Credential

Lyman one of only 14 to receive credential in 2023

Envision Greater Fond du Lac’s Director of Small Business and Entrepreneurship, Raina Lyman, received the Entrepreneurship Development Professional (EDP) Credential through the International Economic Development Council (IEDC).

The EDP designation requires candidates to have two years of full-time experience in economic development, complete the necessary education requirements, and pass the certification examination. It is designed for professionals who work with entrepreneurs and small businesses, as well as those who support them via programs, networks, and approaches that foster small business and entrepreneurial growth. The 2023 program courses and examination were presented in an entirely virtual format.

“This credential is a huge testament to the hard work Raina has put in and the dedication she has to helping entrepreneurs in Fond du Lac County succeed, Sadie Vander Velde, President/CEO, said. “Envision Greater Fond du Lac continues to make strides throughout the county, especially in the areas of small business and entrepreneurial technical assistance. Year to date, Raina has already provided technical assistance to 130 unique entrepreneurs. This really speaks to the positive economic climate in our county.”

The EDP credential is the second certification offered by IEDC, after the Certified Economic Developer (CEcD) certification. The CEcD credential is a comprehensive designation that tests applicants’ general proficiency regarding economic development. IEDC has certified more than 1,100 CEcD and over 40 EDP practitioners.
