Marian University softball (14-14, 11-5 NACC) dropped a pair to No. 16 UW-Oshkosh, falling 8-0 in five innings and 4-0.

GAME 1 

  • The Sabres made quick work of the Titans in the first, retiring all three batters.
  • UW-Oshkosh plated two runs in the second and added four more in the third to build a 6-0 lead. 
  • Sophomore Macey Pease recorded the Sabres’ first hit of the contest with a third-inning double, but Marian left two on base, including Pease at third, to end the inning.
  • The Titans extended their lead to eight with two-run innings in the fourth and fifth, securing a run-rule victory in five innings. 

GAME 2 

  • Marian collected two hits in the first to load the bases, as senior Hope Matta reached third, before UW-Oshkosh got out of the inning. 
  • The Titans pushed across a run in the second to break the tie. 
  • UW-Oshkosh’s Grace Nardi struck out three Marian batters in the third. 
  • The deficit widened in the fifth as the Titans plated three more runs. 
  • Pease doubled in the sixth to put senior Carissa Heisdorf at third, but the Sabres couldn’t capitalize in the 4-0 loss.

  • UW-Oshkosh outhit Marian 11-2, including five hits in a four-run third inning.
  • Marian committed two errors, but neither resulted in runs. 
  • Pease doubled for just the second time in her Marian career.
  • Two Titans drove in three or more runs. 

GAME 2

  • Pease extended her on-base streak to 10 games. 
  • The Titans finished with 13 hits to the Sabres’ six. 
  • Each team finished with one error.
  • Nardi struck out nine Sabres in the game.
  • UW-Oshkosh leads the all-time series against Marian, 40-5.
