Envision Greater Fond du Lac recently joined ADVOCAP in celebrating sixty years of community action in Fond du Lac County with a special ribbon-cutting ceremony at Hotel Retlaw.
The ribbon cutting ceremony marked the grand finale of ADVOCAP’s Community Leaders Luncheon, which brought nearly 60 business leaders, local government representatives and community partners together to learn more about ADVOCAP’s programs and the impact they have on children, families and individuals throughout Fond du Lac County.
A special focus of the luncheon was ADVOCAP’s Head Start preschool program, which has been part of ADVOCAP since 1967. Attendees learned how Head Start supports children as they prepare for kindergarten while also providing families with developmental and health screenings, nutritious meals, family engagement opportunities and connections to community resources.
The event also highlighted ADVOCAP’s broader role as a community action organization. Since 1966, ADVOCAP has worked alongside individuals, families and community partners to address local needs and create pathways toward greater stability and self-sufficiency. Today, that work includes childhood development, basic needs assistance, support for older adults, housing stability and workforce opportunities. (advocap.org)
