Junior Marc Jones and sophomore Ayden Kanaman of Marian University baseball have been named All-NACC Honorable mention, as announced by the conference Thursday afternoon.
Kanaman (New London, Wis.) found himself on the base paths nearly every game earning his first all-conference selection. He also ranked 19th in the conference with his 51 base knocks, and 16th in the NACC for on-base percentage at .463. Kanaman started in all 38 games this season recording multiple hits 16 times. His season-best was a five-hit performance in game one at Wisconsin Lutheran where he was 5-for-6 with three runs driven in and a run scored. Kanaman also drove in multiple runs in six games with four runs driven in in game one against Lakeland and game two against Dominican. That speed was also beneficial out in center field where he had 101 putouts and posted a .971 fielding percentage.
Jones (Whitewater, Wis.) was a staple in the middle of the Marian lineup earning his first all-conference award. He appeared in all 38 games this season hitting .336 with a .392 slugging percentage. Jones led the team with his nine doubles and was second on the squad with 47 base knocks. He had multi-hit efforts in 16 games this season with three-hit performances against Concordia Chicago and game one against Lakeland. His consistent offense saw him held without a hit in only seven games where he recorded an official at bat. Jones drove in multiple runs in five games with four of those performances seeing him drive in three runs. In the second game of the Dominican series, Jones was 2-for-5 with three runs driven in and a pair of runs scored.
