Leadership Fond du Lac County Alumni presents Empty Bowls, 2023

Envision Greater Fond du Lac’s Leadership Fond du Lac County Alumni will host Empty Bowls on Wednesday, December 6, 2023 at the Radisson Hotel & Conference Center from 11:00 a.m. – 1:00 p.m. This year, guests can choose between dine-in service or take out (12:30 p.m. only). Sponsors this year include Charter Communications/Spectrum, Bank First, Fond du Lac Noon Kiwanis, Fond du Lac County Sheriff’s Benevolent Association, Fond du Lac Noon Rotary, Society Insurance, and SSM Health.

Empty Bowls, established in 2002, is a community-driven effort to fight hunger. The three-fold purpose of this event is to promote an awareness of hunger in our community and world; create an awareness of art education and its impact on civil and social responsibility; and provide an opportunity for the community to come together to raise money for local food pantries and shelters. Proceeds from this event benefit area food pantries.

“Empty Bowls is a community-wide event to raise awareness and funds for our local food pantries,” Tracy Qualmann, Leadership alumni ‘02 and 2023 Empty Bowls Planning Committee, said. “In addition to the social justice aspect of this event, guests have the opportunity to enjoy six soups, bakery, and dessert from our local restaurants.”

Attendees will have the choice of eating their soups at the Radisson (during specific timeframes; no reserved tables) or taking their soup and accompaniments to go (take-out is at 12:30 p.m. only and must be pre-ordered). Regardless of choice, all who purchase a ticket will receive six soup samples (from Backyard Grill & Bar (beef stroganoff), Fat Joe’s Burgers & Brew (white chicken chili), Mr. & Mrs. Catering (tomato bisque), Salty’s Seafood & Spirits (cheesy seafood), Sully’s Tavern of Fond du Lac (chili), and Sunset on the Water Grill & Bar (chicken enchilada)) bakery, a dessert, and water or milk. There will also be an opportunity to purchase tickets to win raffle baskets. Lastly, given the continued challenges in our K-12 schools, a limited number of bowls will be available; however, attendees will have the option of a bowl (limited in quantity) or an aluminum-extracted ornament donated by Mid-States Aluminum.

Tickets are $18 and available (beginning November 1, 2023) online at under the events tab, by calling Envision Greater Fond du Lac at 920.921.9500, or stopping at 23 S. Main Street, Suite 101 (entrance off Sheboygan Street) during regular business hours. Tickets are also available for purchase at the door (cash or credit card). Take-out orders must be purchased in advance.
