The Young Professionals of Fond du Lac (YPF) raised $2,000 for The Salvation Army of Fond du Lac’s Pathway of Hope program during their 2nd Annual Kickin’ For A Cause Kickball Tournament on Saturday, July 14, 2018 at Lakeside Park in Fond du Lac. Ten teams participated in this year’s tournament with the Family Focus Eye Care team being named this year’s tournament champions.
“Part of YPF’s vision is that ‘Together, we will be agents of change, guiding our community forward as it evolves.’ Supporting the Pathway of Hope program does just that. When our planning committee read about the impact this program has on our community, we knew it was something we had to support,” shared Jenna Floberg, YPF President and Executive Director of Villa Rosa/Villa Loretta for Agnesian HealthCare, a member of SSM Health. “Ensuring we have thriving families and citizens of the Fond du Lac community is very much in line with what YPF tries to promote and we were excited about this opportunity to give back.”
Pathway of Hope helps families create a brighter future through an intensive case management program that unities community resources to help families with children achieve stability and self-sufficiency. Since the program began in Fond du Lac, 23 families have been enrolled in the program with 75% of those families doubling their income and 57% reporting an increase in hope.
“It’s because of the thoughtfulness and generosity of YPF and other like-minded organizations that The Salvation Army is able to help families get better traction in life and reach the goals that were previously just out of their reach,” said Ron Jacobson, Director of Social Services for The Salvation Army. “Contributions like YPF’s help families overcome stresses and barriers that hold them back and keep them from being self-sufficient.”
