Fond du Lac, WI – The Envision Greater Fond du Lac Safety Council has announced its second year of Safety Academy programming. Safety Academy is a five-session series of development opportunities and best practice sharing for safety professionals.

Topics and dates for the Safety Academy are as follows:

• January 23 – Safety Needs and Applicability Assessment
  Explore the different methods to determine, assess, address and monitor applicable (legal and other) requirements of your day-to-day operations and activities.
• February 6 – Safety Policies, Procedures, and Programs
  Learn how to develop, revise and implement necessary plans to set direction and principles of action to ensure organizational compliance following a needs and applicability assessment.
• February 20 – Training Content Development
  OSHA requires employers to train employees on numerous topics. Learn how to put together a training program that will engage the adult learner for effective safety training.
• March 6 – Inspections, Assessments and Auditing
  Review tools and approaches to plan, establish, implement and maintain a process to ensure the organization is applying requirements and controls.
• March 20 – Safety Document Management and Recordkeeping Control Process
  Establish and implement a process to create and maintain documents in order to demonstrate and assess conformance requirements and implementation of safety efforts.

All sessions will be held from 7:30 a.m. to 9:00 a.m. at Moraine Park Technical College, 235 N. National Avenue in Fond du Lac. The courses are free for Safety Council members; $20 per course or $80 for all five courses for non-members. The public is welcome to attend. Individuals who complete all five Safety Academy courses will receive a certificate of recognition.
