New Interactive Data Tool Revealed

L.I.F.E. Fond du Lac County data tool inspires community ownership, impact

A new interactive community data tool was revealed to community stakeholders Wednesday morning during a reveal breakfast held at St. Agnes Hospital. The L.I.F.E. Fond du Lac County data tool is a collaborative effort of Envision Greater Fond du Lac, the Fond du Lac Area Foundation and Fond du Lac Area United Way.

“The Fond du Lac area is very lucky to have organizations that understand the importance of collaboration for the benefit of a thriving community,” shared Joe Braun, executive director for the Fond du Lac Area Foundation. “The Fond du Lac Area Foundation, Fond du Lac Area United Way, and Envision Greater Fond du Lac have collaborated to create the L.I.F.E. study that will be used by non-profits, the business community and government entities alike to build programs and initiatives that are going to make a positive difference.”

The interactive website, located at www.lifefdlc.com, showcases the community health of Fond du Lac County as a whole through the categories of demographics, economy, education, health and wellness, and quality of life. In addition, it creates a baseline by which Fond du Lac County can be compared against other similar communities as well as tracking both historic and future progress.

“Our objective in commissioning the L.I.F.E. (Leading Indicators for Excellence) report is really three pronged,” added Amber Kilawee, executive director for Fond du Lac Area United Way. “To identify community strengths and challenges, to serve as an effective tool in raising awareness, and to provide a centralized, easily accessible data source for our community to use and advance.”

This tool was designed to help residents, businesses and organizations better understand the successes and challenges in our community while also inspiring them to take ownership in advancing our community.

“It is an all hands-on deck effort create a vibrant community,” shared Scott Powell, vice president of economic development for Envision Greater Fond du Lac. “With the world changing faster every day, we need tools like this website to help us benchmark our progress to peer communities.”

Businesses or organizations with efforts to advance any of the indicators listed on the www.lifefdlc.com website are encouraged to share information on their efforts with L.I.F.E. Fond du Lac County. News stories that are complimentary to the project data will be included on the website. For more information or to share your efforts, please contact [email protected].
