Marian University women’s bowling won the first GLBC event of the season with an average of 200.05 pins.
- Marian had a pair of squads compete with the Sabre varsity tam finishing with 8,202 pins, 200.05 average, and the varsity-reserve team 7,658 pins, 186.78 average.
- The Sabre varsity squad finished first after a strong day of Baker play, while the varsity-reserve squad would have finished fourth in the varsity standings.
- Marian varsity opened the event in second after managing 4,974 pins in traditional play, while the varsity-reserve team finished with 4,700 pins.
- The Sabre varsity squad had three games of over 1,000 with a high of 1,052, and the varsity-reserve team finished traditional play with a 1,035.
- The Marian varsity squad then boasted the highest Baker total in the field with 3,228 pins, the next closest was 3,118.
- The varsity-reserve team had 2,958 pins in Baker play, which was the third-highest total in the varsity standings.
- The Sabre varsity team had more than 200 pins in nine games including each game of the opening set.
- The high game proved to be a 245 that closed out the second set.
- Marian varsity-reserve had four games of over 200 with a high of 245 that opened the final set.
Junior Kyley Olson finished atop the individual standings after averaging 220.4 pins. Olson had a high of 248 and had at least 199 in all five games. | |
Sophomore Brianna Clemons paced the varsity-reserve team and finished fourth overall with a 213.4 average. Clemons opened with a 236 and finished with a 269. | |
Senior Brenna Schiekiera averaged 207.6 to finish fifth. Schiekiera had back-to-back games of 224 to close out traditional play. |
