Four from Marian women’s soccer earn All-NACC recognition

Four student-athletes from the Marian University women’s soccer program have earned All-NACC recognition.

Sophomore Emily Gordillo (Compton, Calif.) earns All-NACC recognition for a second straight year being named to the Second Team.  Gordillo ranked second on the squad with six goals and 16 total points and posted the most assists on the squad with four helpers.  She had a hand in multiple goals in three games on the season including a multi-goal game against Carthage in the season opener.  Gordillo also had a goal and an assist against Cornell and a multi-assist game against Concordia Chicago.  She had a pair of game-winning goals helping lead Marian past Cornell and St. Norbert.  Through just 36 games played, Gordillo has scored 13 goals with eight assists for 34 total points.

Senior Isabella Goodson (Live Oak, Calif.) ends her collegiate career on a high note earning a spot on the All-NACC Honorable Mention squad.  Goodson had a breakout season leading Marian with eight goals and 18 total points.  She would score in six different games including a hat trick against Benedictine where she also had an assist as part of a seven-point game.  One of her goals against the Eagles also went on to prove to be the game-winner.  Goodson had just 23 shots on goal for the season to give her an impressive .535 shooting percentage.  In her 36 games as a Sabre, Goodson scored 12 goals to go with two assists for 26 total points.

Junior Chelsea King (Wisconsin Rapids, Wis.) earns an all-conference nod for the second straight season being named to the All-NACC Honorable Mention team.  King went 5-9-4 on the season making 135 saves with a .789 save percentage and three shutouts.  She would rank second in the NACC for total saves and fifth in the conference for save percentage.  King had double-digit saves in five games including a career-high 19 saves against No. 16 Loras.  She would earn a NACC Defensive Player of the Week award for the performance.  King earned a second weekly award after finishing the regular season with 19 saves and a .905 save percentage against Lakeland and Edgewood.

Sophomore Breleigh Navis (Oostburg, Wis.) is a newcomer to the all-conference list earning a spot on the All-NACC Honorable Mention squad.  Navis was one of just five Sabres to play in all 20 games during the season and ranked second among the field players with 1,387 minutes played.  She helped anchor a defense that was able to post three shutouts.  Navis also recorded the first point of her career with an assist against Ripon.
