FDL Area Safety Day Returns July 31

The Envision Greater Fond du Lac Safety Council has announced the return of “Safety Day,” a half-day conference focusing on hot topics in workplace safety. The event will be held Wednesday, July 31 from 7:30 a.m. to 11:30 a.m. at Moraine Park Technical College.

Subject experts will present on the topics of drugs in the workplace, reasonable suspicion, worker’s compensation, OSHA updates, and WI Department of Transportation regulation compliance.

“We’ve put together a heavy-hitting lineup of experts to present very timely information,” said Joe Venhuizen, Director of Membership and Programs at Envision Greater Fond du Lac. “For anyone working in human resources or safety, this is a can’t-miss event with a ton of practical takeaways.”

2019 marks the 13th Safety Day conference produced by the Envision Greater Fond du Lac Safety Council, which stepped back from producing the event for a couple years in order to assess the timeliest safety needs of local businesses.

“Through our series of Safety Coffee Talks, we’ve listened to the needs of local companies and determined certain topics that will appeal to all,” said Craig Schwartz, QA/Facilities Manager at Marchant Schmidt and current Chair of the Safety Council. “With so much regulation in Safety and HR, businesses need to be very attentive to their policies to remain in compliance. Safety Day will be a huge help in informing and assisting local companies with these updates.”
