Envision Greater Fond du Lac awards Youth Apprenticeship Scholarships

Envision Greater Fond du Lac has awarded three scholarships to students who participated in the Youth Apprenticeship program.

The Youth Apprenticeship Program is a part of a statewide initiative. It is designed for high school students who want hands-on learning in an area of career interest at a worksite, along with classroom instruction. This one- or two-year elective program combines academic and technical instruction with mentored on-the-job learning. The Youth Apprenticeship Scholarship is available to students who participate in the program as a junior or senior in one of seven area high schools.

This year’s scholarship recipients are:

Karissa Albrecht, from Oakfield High School, who intends to attend Marian University or Moraine Park Technical College for nursing;

Elyssa Belling, from Fond du Lac High School, who intends to pursue a degree in marketing from the University of Wisconsin – Oshkosh; and

Maddie Gehring, from St. Mary’s Springs Academy, who plans to pursue a degree in biology from the University of Wisconsin – Madison.
