Marian University men’s soccer received 118 points to finish ninth in the NACC preseason poll.
Edgewood was once again picked to finish atop the league with 329 points and 19 of the first-place tallies. MSOE also finished above 300 points at 302 and had four first-place picks. Aurora grabbed a pair of first-place votes and had 289 points, while Dominican had 250 points and the final first-place pick. Not far off that pace was St. Norbert with 248, and Illinois Tech was the final school with 200 or more points.
Benedictine and CUW were predicted as the final two schools to qualify for the NACC Tournament with 174 and 161 points, respectively. The first squad out was Marian with its 118 points, and Wisconsin Lutheran was only three points off of the pace of the Sabres. The poll was rounded out with Lakeland (71), Rockford (64), and Concordia Chicago (45).
The top eight teams will qualify for the NACC Tournament with the winner of the conference tournament earning an automatic bid into the NCAA Division III Tournament.

Marian opens the season Tuesday, Sept. 1 on the road at Carthage for a 7:30 p.m. non-conference game.
