YPF of the Month – Aubriana Donahue

Hometown: Fond du Lac, WI

Educational Background: UW Oshkosh – Human Services Leadership

Describe Yourself in Three Words: Passionate, Enthusiastic, Compassionate

Place of Employment and Position: The Arc Fond du Lac – Special Olympics & Healthy Lifestyles Coordinator

What do you enjoy the most about your current position?

The best thing about my current position is the people I get to work with. The people involved in our organization (team members and clientele) are wonderful people, and they become a second family.

What is the one thing you would do if you knew you could not fail?

I would do nothing because nothing would be worth doing. Failure is a part of the process of living, and I wouldn’t be the person I am today if I didn’t fail at certain points in my life.

How has YPF contributed to your personal and/or professional development?

YPF has contributed in many ways with my personal/professional development. Whether it getting involved in Program & Events Committee and becoming the Co-Chair to professionally grow or network with people who have become good friends.

Who or what is your source of professional inspiration?

Professional Inspiration would be Dan Hebel and Liz Morrell- both lead inspirational organizations and have been involved in conversations regarding growth opportunities.

What are some of the professional and volunteer groups you participate in?

Women’s Empowerment Series

Downtown Fond du Lac Partnership

Many YPF Event Committees

What is your favorite thing to do in the Fond du Lac area?

I love exploring walking trails with my family and spending time on Lake Winnebago.

What words of wisdom do you have for other young professionals working in Fond du Lac?

I encourage young professionals to step out of your comfort zone and try new things. For the longest time I held back from doing stuff because “I didn’t know anyone” or “I wasn’t ‘qualified’ enough.” Once I pushed that out of my head and started getting involved and doing stuff that scared me, more opportunities & experiences have come my way
