YP of the Month – Todd Berg (August 2025)

First and Last Name: Todd Berg

Hometown: Fond du Lac

What Brought you to Fond du Lac: I was born here

Place of Employment and Position: Fat Joes Burgers and Brew and Im the Owner

What do you enjoy the most about your career? I’m such a people person, seeing people all day, every day. Honestly, the customers are the best part!

What words of wisdom would you share with other YP’s in relation to career building? If you like your job and the people there, stick with it! I started here as a dishwasher, and life just took me where I am now. Sometimes, being in the right place at the right time just works out!

Who or what inspires and motivates you to be your best? When people say they love our food, or love coming here, or they love the staff makes me smile every time. I get up everyday and do what I do for the customers and the staff!

What are 3 Characteristics and/or Strengths that make you who you are? I’m always in a good mood, I don’t let people get me down! I try to see the best in people, and I’d like to think I’ve changed people’s lives for the better! I’m such a softy, which people may take advantage of, but it’s a blessing and a curse!

What is your favorite thing to do in your free time/a hobby you enjoy? I like to get out and see other people, i like to check out new places all the time! I play volleyball every week, and I recently got a golden retriever, so she keeps me busy at home!

Name something you enjoy doing in the Greater Fond du Lac Area that others should check out: Ohh man, there are some hidden gems of fun in town! I’m usually at work, so I’m more of a night owl when it comes to things! I’m a huge movie buff, so checking out the brand new seating at the theatre in town if you haven’t is a must! So in the summer, you’ll catch me on the Patio at Fat Joe’s a lot.

How do you engage in our community? As a proud local business owner, giving back to the Fondy community is something I truly value. At Fat Joe’s, we do our best to support those around us in meaningful ways. We regularly host Give Back Nights and partner with local school PTOs, youth sports teams, Big Brothers Big Sisters, and a variety of local charities. Whether it’s through fundraising, sponsorships, or donations, we believe in showing up for the community that supports us. It’s just one small way we can say thank you and help keep Fondy thriving.

Share a lesson you have learned or a nugget of advice with other YP’s. Always wear a smile, you never know who you’ll meet or how your first impression will be with someone.

What do you love about the Greater Fond du Lac Area today and what is your hope for its future in the years to come? I like to call myself a Fondly Local for Life! To me, Fondy truly is the best place on Earth. I love the people, the close-knit community, and the unique charm of a place that’s big enough to offer so much—yet small enough that everyone seems to know someone who knows someone.

It’s been incredible to see how much Fondy has grown. Just five years ago, we didn’t have nearly as many of the fun attractions and activities you’d find in larger cities—but now, in such a short time, we’ve come so far. I’m excited for what’s ahead and hopeful that we’ll continue to grow, adding even more opportunities and experiences while keeping the strong sense of community that makes Fondy feel like home.
