First and Last Name:  Liz Wustrack (Elizabeth if you ask my Mom)

Hometown: Fond du Lac, WI

Educational Background: How much time do you have?….. It was quite a journey. BA from UWO, Licensed Cosmetologist

Describe Yourself in Three Words: Quirky, lively, intellectually-stimulating

Place of Employment and Position: Destination Lake Winnebago Region- Director of Community and Customer Success

What do you enjoy the most about your current position? Every day I get to promote a community I love. I get to make a difference in Fond du Lac and show others what a beautiful region we have by showing off all of the wonderful things our area has to offer.

What is the one thing you would do if you knew you could not fail? Hype (wo)man for a music artist…. Picture me on the side of the stage at a Lizzo concert (not that she needs a hype man) workin’ the crowd, pumpin’ up the people, maybe throw in some crowd surfing….

How has YPF contributed to your personal and/or professional development? YPF has introduced me to a whole new network of people who I consider mentors and friends. It can be really difficult to make friends as an adult who moves back home, and YPF has greatly helped me with that. Many events and members involved in YPF have taught me ways to grow as a person and within my career. I am extremely grateful for that.

Who or what is your source of professional inspiration? I would say that my goals and aspirations are my professional inspiration. I always strive to learn and do more.

What are some of the professional and volunteer groups you participate in? I am on the board of directors for Fond du Lac Community Theatre and South Shore Chorale. I am a member of the Evening Optimists. I volunteer my time at the Galloway House and Village, Sturgeon Spectacular, and many other community events. Basically if you ask I’m there.

What is your favorite thing to do in the Fond du Lac area? I love to go to the Farmer’s Market to get fresh flowers and coffee…. always coffee.

Where do you see the Fond du Lac area in 5 years?
Picture this….. The Disney World of the Midwest.

What words of wisdom do you have for other young professionals working in Fond du Lac? Take an active role in your community. Be involved. It’s easy to complain about the way things are, but it’s more positive and productive to take a leading role in shaping your community into what you wish to see. Be the change. *insert more cliche phrases here*

What’s your favorite way to spend a day off? Going on adventures with my boyfriend. Also, naps.

What is one of your favorite quotes from a TV show/movie/book? “I just have a lot of feelings.” -Mean Girls it really hits home.

Have you ever disliked something and then changed your mind? The first time I watched Step Brothers I turned it off about 20 minutes in because I thought it was so dumb. Now I can essentially quote the entire movie.

Is there one job you’d never do? Yes, there are a lot. I’m very delicate.

What’s the best thing you’ve learned in your current position? I have learned a lot about communicating through different generations. I have been really amazed at how many unique and exciting events, attractions, and businesses we have in our region. We truly have a community that is full of surprises.
