Young Professional of the Month – November 2017: Bill Baus

Hometown: Campbellsport, Wisconsin

Education: Business Management major and Information Technology minor at Marian University. Master’s in Business Administration from UW-Oshkosh.

Where do you work, what is your current position and what do you like most about it?

I work at Mercury Marine as a Financial Analyst. I’m currently working on a long term project where we are implementing a new system in our warehouse. What I like most about this opportunity is that it has given me the chance to learn more about the operational side of our business and has given me a new set of skills to progress in my career.

What has YPF done for your personal and/or professional development?

YPF has provided me with many networking opportunities with other professionals. It is inspiring to see what some of our young leaders have done in this community. Surrounding myself with fellow YP leaders has motivated me personally and professionally.

What is your favorite thing to do in the Fond du Lac area?

I really enjoy doing activities on Lake Winnebago. In the summer time you’ll find me out boating and fishing and in the winter I enjoy going sturgeon spearing and the various events that take place on the lake. I also enjoy activities at Lakeside Park like Walleye Weekend, playing softball, and the Christmas light show.

Where do you see the Fond du Lac area in 5 years?

I see Fond du Lac as a growing community and I’m excited to be part of it. We have recently seen new businesses like Grande Cheese move to the area and the addition of the Dock Spiders baseball team are all great assets to our community. It’s opportunities like these that will help retain our young professionals and continue to help Fond du Lac grow.

What words of wisdom do you have for other young professionals working in Fond du Lac?

I encourage young professionals to never stop learning and to do what makes you happy. I also encourage them to get involved in the community in something you are passionate about whether it is in a personal or professional setting.
