What has been the biggest surprise about your Youth Apprenticeship?
My biggest surprise about the Youth Apprenticeship program would have to be the variety of aspects of the company that I have been able to learn from and explore.
What is your favorite part about participating in the Youth Apprenticeship (YA) Program?
My favorite part about participating in the Youth Apprenticeship program is learning about each different job. There’s always something new you can learn each day.
What is your favorite subject in school?
My favorite subject in school is math.
When you’re not in school or at your YA site, what can we find you doing?
When I’m not in school or at my YA site, I can be found hanging out with friends and family, doing homework, going to sporting events, or training for my upcoming sports.
If you could give a student that is thinking about YA any advice, what would it be?
If I could give a student that is thinking about YA any advice, it would have to be to explore your options. It is a great program that allows you to further your knowledge and gives you an idea of careers you might want to pursue.
What are your plans after high school?
My current plan after high school is to attend college for either accounting or some field of engineering, and eventually become an officer in the United States Marine Corps.
Benefits of the Youth Apprenticeship Program are multi-fold in that the program helps students prepare for careers while still in high school, but also develops the technical and employability skills that community employers are looking for.
