Hometown: Fond du Lac, Wisconsin
High School:
Saint Mary’s Springs Academy
Youth Apprenticeship Pathway and Site: Jack Twohig Carpet One

What has been the biggest surprise about your Youth Apprenticeship?
It has helped me with becoming more knowledgeable in the workplace and more efficient with the things I do.

What is your favorite part about participating in the Youth Apprenticeship (YA) Program?
I think my favorite part is that I am able to work in the morning and also go to school. I think it is very good for balancing a schedule.

What is your favorite subject in school?
Science

When you’re not in school or at your YA site, what can we find you doing?
Hunting or fishing

If you could give a student that is thinking about YA any advice, what would it be?
I would tell them to do it for sure. It’s an awesome experience with very great rewards!

What are your plans after high school?
Go to Saint Norbert’s or UWO to study Business Management and Administration.

From his Employer: “Mitchell is such a good asset to our company and always finds a way to get things done in a timely matter. He is always willing to lend a helping hand; his work ethic speaks for itself.”

Benefits of the Youth Apprenticeship Program are multi-fold in that the program helps students prepare for careers while still in high school, but also develops the technical and employability skills that community employers are looking for.
