When Technology and Communication Collide: Marian University’s 18th Annual Academic Symposium

Are we leading or being led? Experts weigh the moral, social, and economic impact.

Have you ever wondered what role artificial intelligence should play in effective communication?  Or how we balance emotional intelligence and digital literacy?  Marian University will tackle such issues at the 18th Academic Symposium which explores “The Universal Impact of Technology and Communication: How Does It Influence Our Lives and the Lives of Our Leaders?” The symposium will take place on Tuesday evening, March 25, and all day Wednesday, March 26, 2025, on the Marian University campus.

This year’s theme will address pressing questions about the moral, social, and economic implications of technological advancements, including the use of artificial intelligence, digital literacy, and the balance between privacy and freedom in an interconnected world. The event will also explore how communication technologies impact leadership, diversity, equity, inclusion, and emotional intelligence.

Students, faculty, staff, emeriti, and members of the greater community are all invited to engage in meaningful dialogue about the ways technology and communication shape our personal lives, workplaces, and societal structures. The symposium will feature a mix of presentations, panel discussions, and interactive sessions.
