Data centers, electric vehicles, and solar farms! Do I have your attention yet? October is Energy Awareness Month, and the demand for energy continues to dominate the headlines in the world of economic development. One 40-year-old family business in Fond du Lac is making a difference – and earning recognition for it.
Riley Electrical Supply, located on Hickory Street in Fond du Lac, was recently awarded with the 2025 Energy Efficiency Excellence Award from Focus on Energy. The recognition celebrates a mass of projects that Riley has supplied, helping their customers save on energy costs. Shawn Bode, Energy Advisor with Focus on Energy, estimated that in last 8 years, Riley Electrical Supply has supplied more than 500 projects totaling $460,000 in energy incentives. This savings is the equivalent of removing the annual electricity use of 870 homes from the grid.
Tim Riley, President of Riley Electrical Supply, accepted the award in a ceremony attended by Alliant Energy and Envision Greater Fond du Lac. “Because of the incentives offered, our customers’ decisions to improve their lighting are much easier to make. They feel good about the lower cost and faster return on investment,” said Riley. “I want to thank our customer base for partnering with us and trusting us to provide them a highly efficient, quality lighting system.”
One notable customer relationship Riley maintains is with Holiday Automotive. “We’ve done a lot of remodeling and they’ve been there every step of the way,” said Willie Beyer, Holiday Automotive’s Chief Operations Officer. “The way Riley Electric has set up our lighting has been second to none in our industry.”
