Fond du Lac High School Assistant Principal, Brooke Kilian

The Fond du Lac School District (FDL-SD) announces Brooke Kilian as a Fond du Lac High School (FHS) assistant principal, effective July 1, 2023.

Ms. Kilian is returning to her home state of Wisconsin after spending time in South Dakota and Wyoming.

“I am ecstatic to finally be back home and in a position where I can make a positive impact on the students at Fond du Lac High School,” said Kilian. “I am looking forward to supporting the initiatives that the district has in place and being part of their administrative team.”

Currently, Ms. Kllian is serving as the district secondary education coordinator for the Campbell County School District (Gillette, Wyoming) for the last three years. She also served in Campbell County as the district elementary special education case manager for eight years. Prior to serving as an administrator, she worked as a high school special education teacher for four years at Lead High School (Lead, South Dakota). 

Ms. Kilian has a Master’s degree in Curriculum and Instruction from Black Hills State University. She also received a Bachelor of Science in Special Education and Business Education from Black Hills State. She has an Educational Specialist degree in Educational Leadership with a specialization in Director of Special Education and Building Level Administration from Arkansas State University.

“Ms. Kilian brings a wealth of experience in the area of special education and leadership at the district level,” said Dr. Jeffrey Fleig, FDL-SD Superintendent. “We are pleased to welcome Ms. Kilian to the Fond du Lac School District.”

“Ms. Kilian’s experience in leading change at the school and district level will make her a valuable member of the FHS administrative team,” said FDL-SD Human Resource Director Marisa Lombardo.

In addition to her K-12 education work, Ms. Kilian served as an Adjunct Professor at the University of Wyoming for the last five years. Also, she has presented numerous times on special education topics at state conferences.
