Senior Aaron Velasco of Marian University men’s volleyball has been named the NACC Defensive Player of the Week.
Velasco (Honolulu, Hawaii) had a monster double-double, his second of the year, to lead Marian past Illinois Tech in five sets. He paced the Sabre back row recording 22 digs in the victory, his third performance this campaign with at least 20 digs. Velasco wasn’t too shabby on the offensive side either, finishing with 16 kills despite playing the first two sets at libero. He finished the match with a .538 attack percentage. This is the fourth NACC Defensive Player of the Week award for Velasco in his career.
