Senior Aaron Velasco of Marian University men’s volleyball has been selected as the NACC Defensive Player of the Week.
Velasco (Honolulu, Hawaii) continued to dominate in the back row and averaged 4.21 digs per set at the Cal-Lu-Fornia Invitational. He had double-digit digs in three of the four matches and closed out the event with a career-high 30 digs in a five-set victory over North Park. Velasco has been a key of the Sabre back row of late recording double-digit digs in seven of the last eight matches. This is the third NACC Defensive Player of the Week award for Velasco.
