New name intends to increase inclusivity to all business units and ease community confusion

Valley Packaging Industries, Inc., a 501(c)(3) non-profit that provides a variety of community programs and services, and packaging services to private industry has changed their name to VPI, Inc. The name change came after the organization received extensive external feedback that the name Valley Packaging Industries, Inc. has been confusing to the community, and they determined that the name is not reflective of all that they do. The new name is brief, simple, and all-encompassing compared to the prior name.

The name Valley Packaging Industries, Inc. is descriptive to their packaging services, but gives no mention to the 20+ essential community programs and services that support the changing needs of community members with disabilities or disadvantages. Shortening the name to VPI, Inc. allows for more inclusion and community understanding as it is general enough to represent all of the diverse services that they provide. They expect this to be an easy transition, as they are already known as VPI in short. There will be no changes to the services or programs provided.

“There is really no change to our overall business model or mission with the move to VPI, Inc.” said Tim Riebau, VPI, Inc. President & CEO. “It is simple name change that is more reflective and consistent with the many things we do in the community beyond packaging.”

VPI’s mission is to promote the dignity and worth of individuals who have disabilities or are disadvantaged and to assist them in developing their optimum level of social, vocational, and economic independence in the community.
