A trio from the Marian University women’s lacrosse program have been recognized as All-Conference by the Northern Athletics Collegiate Conference (NACC).
Senior Marie Murphy (East Canton, Ohio) earns her second all-conference award being named to the first team. Murphy ranked inside the top 10 of the conference for both ground balls per game and caused turnovers per game. She would finish 10th in the NACC with her 1.75 caused turnovers per game and eighth with 3.13 ground balls per game. She would grab at least five ground balls in four games and had multiple caused turnovers in seven games. Murphy caused at least one turnover in all but three games during the regular season. Her best game came in a one-goal win at Edgewood where she had seven caused turnovers to go with five ground balls.
Senior Nicole Stachon (Kenosha, Wis.) closes out one of the most illustrious careers in Sabre women’s lacrosse history with a Second Team All-NACC pick, her first all-conference award. Stachon led the Sabre offense all season long finishing with 32 goals and 15 assists for 47 total points over 14 games played. She scored multiple goals in seven games and netted three game-winning goals. She had three games where she scored at least five goals including a career-best eight goals against Elmhurst. Stachon also added four assists in the win over the Blue Jays for 12 total points. She would grab at least four ground balls in eight games and had at least four draw controls in five games. Stachon finishes her career the all-time leader for games played, points, assists, and draw controls.
Senior Kayla Kopitcke (Powell, Wyo.) was one of the best defensive student-athletes in the NACC once again to earn her second All-NACC Second Team award. Kolpitcke finished the regular season fourth in the NACC with 2.2 caused turnovers per game and 11th in the entire country, second in the NACC, with 5.07 ground balls per game. She had at least five ground balls in seven games including a career-best 12 coming against Hendrix in the season opener. She also had five caused turnovers against Hendrix earning her NACC Defensive Player of the Week honors. Kolpitcke caused multiple turnovers in 10 games with a career-best six coming in a one-goal win at UW-Stout. Offensively, she had multiple goals in three games with a four-goal game coming at Illinois Tech. She leaves Marian the all-time leader for ground balls and caused turnovers.

The 2024 season saw Marian qualify for the NACC Tournament for the second time in program history.
