Three student-athletes from the Marian University women’s bowling program have earned recognition from the CCIW.
Senior Jocelynn Eggert (Loves Park, Ill.) earns a spot on the All-CCIW First Team for a second straight season. Eggert finished atop the individual standings at the first CCIW event of the season with a 190.3 average and placed 12th at the second conference meet with a 177.0 average. Over her seven individual games bowled in conference play, she had four games with at least 190 pins with a high game of 205. Outside of conference play, Eggert had a fifth-place finish at the Warhawk Open where she averaged 209.2 pins and had at least 200 pins in the final four games. She also averaged over 200 pins at the ISBPA Kegel Classic where her 206.4 average over five games was good for eighth.
Senior Brenna Schiekiera (Waukesha, Wis.) is named All-CCIW for the fourth time in her career earning a spot on the First Team for a second straight campaign. Schiekiera took third-place at the opening CCIW meet of the season and then finished atop the individual standings at the second met with a 203.0 average. She was the only bowler in the conference to finish with an average above 200 pins at either event. Schiekiera had three games above 200 pins between the two meets including a high game of 221. She adds this award after earning a spot on the All-GLBC team where her 191.6 average was good for third in the individual standings. She had a strong showing at the ISC Sctional Qualifier finishing with 1,273 pins to finish 13th, just 37 pins away from qualifying for the ISC National Championship.
Sophomore Abby Giddings (Hatley, Wis.) was named to the CCIW RESPECT award recipient for the Sabres. RESPECT Award recipients have distinguished themselves as an integral member of the team, their institution and community by upholding the values of Responsibility, Enthusiasm, Service, Pride, Excellence, Collaboration and Trust. The RESPECT Award recognizes the intangible traits a student-athlete possesses that exemplify great character and encourages inclusiveness and a positive culture.
