The Northwoods League announced on Friday morning that Kemp Alderman (Ole Miss), Nick Mitchell (Western Illinois) and Parker Noland (Vanderbilt) had all been named to the 2022 Northwoods League Post-Season All-Star team, the most Dock Spiders selected since five were selected in 2020.

After joining the team in the second half, Alderman has played in 28 of the final 35 games. Alderman has smashed four home runs and driven in 27 runs. Alderman was also one of six Dock Spiders selected to the Major league Dreams Showcase in La Crosse, Wis. At the Showcase, Alderman was one of two Dock Spiders, along with Andrew Sojka (CSUN) to tally a home run.

In the outfield, Nick Mitchell capped off his historic season with a Post-Season All-Star selection. Mitchell, who tied the singleseason franchise record with 59 games played, was also selected as an NWL Mid-Season All-Star and was one of two Dock Spiders to play in the 2022 NWL All-Star Game in Wisconsin Rapids. Mitchell set new franchise records in hits (89), triples (8), runs (76), and at-bats (286). He’s second in single-season franchise history with 49 RBI, tied for fifth with 16 stolen bases, and tied for third with 13 doubles. If the season ended today, Mitchell would be fourth all-time in average (.372), fourth in on-base percentage (.471), and second in OPS (1.003). Mitchell’s teammate Mitchell’s eight triples are also tied for the second-most in a single season in Northwoods League history.

Noland became the first player to be selected to multiple NWL Post-Season All-Star teams in franchise history after he was named to the 2020 team at third base. Noland was one of two third-base selections for the 2022 team. In 42 games with the Dock Spiders, Noland has hit .318 with 15 stolen bases and 27 RBI. His .318 average is fourth among all Dock Spiders with at least 100 plate
appearances.

The Dock Spiders return home on Saturday against the Rafters at 6:35 p.m. for the final home game of the regular season. Saturday night also marks Fan Appreciation Night, as the team will say “Thank You” to fans with some surprises throughout the night. The Dock Spiders also enter today in the hunt for the final NWL Playoff spot. To qualify for the playoffs, the Dock Spiders
need to win both of their remaining games while the Wausau Woodchucks lose both to the Madison Mallards.
