Sweeny earns NACC Defensive Player of the Week recognition

Junior Jackson Sweeny of Marian University men’s lacrosse has been selected as the NACC Defensive Player of the Week.

Sweeney (Hastings, Minn.) played a pivotal role in Marian defeating Clarke (Iowa) for its first win of the season.  He finished the game with a season-high 20 saves to go with three caused turnovers and four ground balls in the one-goal win.  Sweeney posted an .800 save percentage in the victory, the second game of his career where he saved at least 80 percent of shots.  It was the fifth game of his career with at least 20 saves.
