Sweeney, Simard sweep NACC Player of the Week awards

Junior Serge Simard and sophomore Jackson Sweeney of Marian University men’s lacrosse have been named the NACC Players of the Week.

Simard (Winnipeg, Man.) had the best game of his career to lead Marian past Spalding.  Simard scored eight goals to go with six assists for 14 total points, all career-highs.  Simard scored one of his goals a man-up and grabbed seven ground balls.

Sweeney (Hastings, Minn.) did a little bit of everything to lead Marian past Spalding in non-conference action.  Sweeney most notably made seven saves on 10 shots on goal to finish with a .700 save percentage.  He also recorded an assist, five ground balls, and a caused turnover in the victory over the Golden Eagles.
