Sus named CSC Academic All-District

Sophomore JT Sus of Marian University men’s soccer has been named Academic All-District by the organization College Sports Communicators.

The CSC Academic All-American program recognizes the nation’s top student-athletes for their efforts both in competition and in the classroom.  To be eligible, a student-athlete must compete in 90 percent of their team’s games, be a key starter or reserve on their team, and attain a cumulative grade-point average of at least 3.5. They must also hold at least sophomore standing at their institution.

Sus (Waukee, Iowa) had another solid season as an anchor on the back line for the Marian defense.  He started in all 17 games that he appeared in and didn’t leave the pitch in 13 of those games.  Sus also proved himself as an offensive weapon scoring three goals to go with an assist for seven total points.  One of his top offensive performances saw him score a goal with an assist against Concordia Chicago (Oct. 25) in a 4- 1 victory.  He also helped lead the Sabre defense to five shutouts including a pair of 0-0 stalemates.  Sus becomes just the fifth Sabre in program history to earn this distinction.
