Sheamus Stoyle has been announced as the third head coach of the Marian University ACHA D3 hockey program.
Stoyle takes over the program after serving as an assistant coach with the Ogden Junior Mustangs program for the past two seasons. He began his career with the Mustangs organization with the 14U program before joining the 16U coaching staff last season. He also has served as a skills coach and camp director primarily through Rocky Mountain Hockey School.
“I am excited to take over the Marian ACHA D3 program and lead the next generation of Sabres,” said Stoyle. “I want to thank Director of Athletics Tony Draves and Marian University for giving me this incredible opportunity to give back to the university that provided me with memories and life lessons that I will cherish forever. I am excited to build off of the success that the team had in the second half last season. Go Sabres!”
No stranger to Marian hockey, Stoyle returns to Marian ACHA hockey after spending four seasons as a student-athlete with the Marian ACHA D2 hockey program. Stoyle skated in 87 games over his career finishing with 17 goals and 25 assists for 42 total points. His junior season saw him serve as an assistant captain and set a career high for goals with six. Stoyle helped lead Marian to the ACHA D2 National Tournament twice during his career.
