SSM Health Waupun Memorial Hospital has been recognized for exceptional patient experience. The hospital recently received the 2024 Outstanding Patient Experience Award from Healthgrades.

“We are so fortunate to have an incredible team of providers and caring staff that always give their personal best for the ultimate benefit of the individuals and families that we serve,” according to DeAnn Thurmer, president, SSM Health St. Clare Baraboo/Ripon Community Hospital/Waupun Memorial Hospital. “Providing care in a rural setting often means that we are caring for those we know in our community that have entrusted their care to our team for many years. They often leaving a lasting impression on our patients and their families because they give of themselves.”

To determine recipients of these awards, Healthgrades evaluates hospitals on their performance on 10 patient experience measures. This includes categories such as recommendation to family and friends, communication with staff and discharge information.

This achievement puts SSM Health Waupun Memorial Hospital in the top 15% of eligible U.S. hospitals.

SSM Health Waupun Memorial Hospital is joined in receiving this award by several other SSM Health hospitals in Wisconsin, including St. Agnes Hospital – Fond du Lac, St. Mary’s Hospital – Madison, Monroe Hospital, and St. Clare Hospital – Baraboo.
