SSM Health St. Agnes Hospital occupational therapist receives BEE Award

Kaitlyn Zook, OTR/L, an SSM Health St. Agnes Hospital licensed occupational therapist, has been named the newest recipient of the BEE (Be Exceptional Everyday) Award.

Zook was recognized by two fellow teammates.

“Kaitlyn does an incredible job helping patients return home safely and confidently. She consistently goes above and beyond – whether that’s making sure patients have the right assistive devices or helping them solve their home setup based on descriptions and photos from family members. One example that stands out is when a patient’s family member sent photos and measurements of their shower setup. Kaitlyn took the time to closely consider the setup and worked with the patient to simulate it in the therapy gym. Her attention to detail and patient-centered approach made a huge difference in that person’s confidence and safety heading home. Kaitlyn’s dedication, compassion, and teamwork made her an invaluable part of our care team.”

“Kaitlyn is an extremely hard-working OT. She continuously goes above and beyond not only her patients, but also her co-workers. She is always willing to step in and provide a helping hand to those around her. She is someone I am confident about going to for questions, concerns, or advice when it comes to treating my own patients. She is well deserving of a BEE Award given all that she has done, and continues to do for her patients, and our department.”

The BEE Award is specifically designed to recognize non-nursing staff members who demonstrate great teamwork and communication skills, collaboration, professionalism, exemplary service, and a commitment to excellence.
