SSM Health Integrative Health is welcoming Alemayehu “AJ” Jones, LAc, a licensed acupuncturist, to its Integrative Health team at 421 Camelot Drive in Fond du Lac. He is now accepting patients.

Jones specializes in Acupuncture and Oriental Medicine, offering patients a holistic and evidence‑informed approach to managing pain, stress, and a wide range of health concerns.

He brings extensive experience from the Defense Health Agency, the VA Hospital, MD Anderson Cancer Center, and private practice, where he has cared for patients with conditions including chronic pain, mental health challenges, respiratory and digestive concerns, sleep disorders, reproductive health issues, and the side effects of chemotherapy and radiation.

Jones’ passion for integrative care began during his military service.

“While in the Army, I experienced how acupuncture and Chinese herbal medicine could effectively manage chronic pain and stress without relying on medication,” he says. “I was also drawn to the focus on prevention and overall wellness, which continues to inspire my work.”

Throughout his career, Jones has developed particular interests in traditional and modern acupuncture applications, Tui Na, qigong, and Traditional Chinese Medicine (TCM) nutrition, with the goal of helping patients improve overall health and symptom management.

His approach to patient care is rooted in partnership and compassion.

“My style is patient‑centered and integrative,” Jones says. “I listen carefully, individualize treatments, and emphasize communication and education so patients feel supported, respected, and actively involved in their care.”

One of his greatest joys is sharing knowledge that empowers patients.

“What I enjoy most is patient education,” according to Jones, “helping patients understand Traditional Chinese Medicine and how it can complement their overall medical care.”

Originally from Kansas and Colorado, Jones enjoys spending time with his daughter, staying active, hiking, reading, and traveling. His journeys have taken him around the world, including memorable trips to China, India, Boston, and Maine.

Jones is a member of the Society for Acupuncture Research and the National Certification Board for Acupuncture & Herbal Medicine.
