SSM Health Fond du Lac Regional Clinic welcomes internist Mahmoud Elbadrawy, MD, to its 420 E. Division Street facility. He is now accepting new patients.
As an internal medicine physician, Dr. Elbadrawy offers comprehensive health care services to men and women, including preventive care, diagnosis and non-surgical treatment. He has a special interest in COPD, heart failure, hypertension, and diabetes.
Internal medicine doctors, also called internists, specialize in diagnosing and treating adult health concerns. They have had specialty training focusing on the prevention and treatment of adult diseases. They also are trained to solve diagnostic concerns and can treat severe chronic illnesses and situations where several different illnesses may occur at the same time.
They also bring to patients an understanding of wellness (disease prevention and the promotion of health), women’s health, substance abuse and mental health, as well as effective treatment of common concerns of the eyes, ears, skin, nervous and cardiovascular systems.
When other medical specialists, such as surgeons, are involved, internal medicine physicians coordinate their patient’s care and manage medical conditions associated with that care.
“I always make sure I address all patient concerns,” Dr. Elbadrawy says. “It is very satisfying when I see that my patients are satisfied with the care they are receiving. I was inspired by my father, who was a physician, who told me that internal medicine is the foundation for all specialties.”
In fact, Dr. Elbadrawy is a third-generation doctor in his family.
Dr. Elbadrawy earned his medical degree from the Mansoura University Faculty of Medicine in Egypt and completed his internal medicine residency at St. Elizabeth Medical Center, Boston, and Texas Tech University Health Sciences Center, Amarillo, Texas. He is board eligible by the American Board of Internal Medicine.
