The Summer Series for Interns & Co-ops is a hand-crafted program designed exclusively for Fond du Lac area businesses and their college interns and co-op students. Our goal is to assist in your recruitment and retention strategies while promoting the greater Fond du Lac area.

The program provides professional development, networking tools, leadership and life skills, and information on living, working, and playing in Fond du Lac as a young professional. By offering unique and relevant content at each event, this program provides a platform for further community exposure and enhances your talent recruitment efforts.

This Series is made up of a total of four events, spanning June – July in 2026. We anticipate over 100 students will participate!

Most events will start at 2:00 p.m. and conclude by 4:30 p.m.; all events are held on a Thursday. Refreshments and materials are provided at each event. The one exception to the stated timeframe structure is the Dock Spiders baseball game, which occurs outside of business hours.

Registration Fee & Process:

The registration fee is $150 per intern/co-op, this secures their participation in the entire Summer Series for Interns & Co-Ops (5 events total). The registration fee for non-members is $175 per intern/co-op.

Business representatives will register their interns/co-ops. It is recommended that you determine your exact headcount for the series and then complete one ‘bulk’ registration.

Registration is required by May 22, 2026

Valuable Advice: A best practice identified by participating businesses in 2021 was to present this as a paid opportunity to their interns and co-ops. This, in addition to having the registration fee paid and a flexible work schedule, enabled their students’ participation in the entire series. Many businesses informed their interns and co-ops of the program during onboarding, making it an expectation that they attend the entire series.

What do business participants have to say about the Summer Series for Interns & Co-ops?

“The Summer Series for Interns was not only a beneficial program to engage our interns in offerings that the Fond du Lac community can provide, but it was also fun! The students really enjoyed going to the different programs, seeing different venues in the city, and connecting with other interns from neighboring businesses that were in Fond du Lac for the summer. We highly recommend including this in your businesses summer intern programming.”  –  HR Manager at Grande

“The Envision Greater Fond du Lac team provides a tremendous and valuable resource to connecting interns and employers throughout the community. The social and networking opportunities are excellent!”  –  HR Coordinator at Society Insurance

What do the Intern & Co-op participants think?

“It helped me familiarize myself with the Fond du Lac area and learn about some of the local businesses/activities. Throughout the summer, when I wanted to go out to dinner somewhere, I referred to first summer series event when we learned about all the notable spots around town. Hang 10 Poke was a personal favorite, and my girlfriend enjoyed it as well. The program also helped connect me with other interns and meet new people that from other schools.” –  2025 participant

Going to the Envision Summer Series events was one of the best decisions I made during my co-ops. It gave me a chance to connect with other interns from all kinds of industries, and the events were actually fun, not just the usual small talk networking. I got to experience local companies, pick up real-world advice, and even tried things I never would’ve going to on my own. It made the whole summer feel bigger than just my 9-to-5. I’d definitely recommend Envision to any company looking to give their interns something extra.” – Mercury Marine 2025 Intern

I am not from Fond du Lac, and I love that this is a program that is in place. I think it allows those that are not from the area to know they have a support system that is also bigger than their own company, and truly believe this is something that should be done in the future.” – 2025 participant

I felt it was good because I felt like I gained exposure and knowledge of my own city. Helping out my own city and playing a part of the culture in Fondy through this program was a meaningful experience.” – 2025 participant
