Simoneau inks deal with Evansville Thunderbolts

Jordan Simoneau of Marian University NCAA men’s ice hockey has signed a contract to play professionally for the Evansville Thunderbolts of the Southern Professional Hockey League (SPHL).

Simoneau (Tisdale, Sask.) served as an assistant captain this past season for the Sabres as he capped off a career that was highlighted by consistency.  He skated in a Sabre uniform 71 times scoring 23 goals with 19 assists for 42 career points.  Simoneau recorded at least 13 points in his three seasons with Marian.  He was an especially useful weapon for the Sabres on the power play where he scored 12 goals.  Simoneau had a pair of multi-goal performances this past season with one coming against an Augsburg squad who was receiving votes in the national poll at the time.  He also had a multi-goal performance to finish the Dubuque series earning him an NCHA Star of the Week award.  He was also the Sabre of the Month for November after adding a multi-point game against St. Norbert following his multi-goal performances.
