Senator Feyen Statement on State of the State

State Senator Dan Feyen (R-Fond du Lac) released the following statement after Governor Tony Evers’ 2026 State of the State Address:

“After tonight’s speech, one thing is clear to me: the state of our state is strong, not because of Governor Evers, but because of the work of our responsible Republican-led Legislature that has continued to stand up for Wisconsin taxpayers, workers, and families.

“Governor Evers continues to take credit for Wisconsin’s success while ignoring the fact that the Republican-led Legislature has stood in the way of the most disastrous of Governor Evers’ policies that would have taken Wisconsin in the wrong direction. We’ve protected taxpayers from massive income and property tax increases, preserved key job-creating credits for our manufacturers and farmers, and defended your constitutional rights.

“Make no mistake, without a strong Republican-led Legislature, Wisconsin would look far different today: higher taxes, fewer jobs, and policies that do not reflect the priorities of the hardworking people of our state.

“Your Republican-led Legislature remains laser-focused on lowering costs for families, supporting the workforce, protecting your individual freedoms, and keeping Wisconsin on a path of growth and fiscal responsibility.

“Wisconsin hasn’t moved forward because of Governor Evers’ leadership. It has moved forward in spite of it.”
