State Senator Dan Feyen (R-Fond du Lac) released the following statement after the passage of 7 bipartisan bills:
“Today, I am glad we could come together to pass seven bills I authored through the Senate. I am even more glad to see that each of these bills received bipartisan support.
“I’ve heard concerns from parents and business owners about the affordability and availability of childcare in Wisconsin. For the last two sessions I have been working on business and community led solutions to these issues.
“SB 376 will mirror a federal tax credit designed to incentivize businesses to create their own childcare facilities. AB 280 makes changes to the Business Development Tax Credit by allowing businesses to claim a credit for pooling money together in a local revolving loan fund for the purpose of building workforce housing or providing childcare. Both of these bills require the business community to have skin in the game when it comes to childcare and will bring more investments into local daycares.”
“Housing is another critical portion of Wisconsin’s economy. AB 452 will help to speed up the creation of new lots so that we can tackle our housing shortage.”
Additionally, the Senate also passed SB 188, SB 419, and AB 166 on a voice vote and SB 482 was passed unanimously.
