Sadie Howell of Envision Greater Fond du Lac Earns Prestigious CEcD Certification

Envision Greater Fond du Lac is pleased to announce that Sadie Howell, President and CEO, has successfully earned the designation of Certified Economic Developer (CEcD) from the International Economic Development Council (IEDC).

The CEcD credential is widely recognized as the highest professional certification in economic development. It reflects a rigorous standard of knowledge and competence. To become certified, candidates must complete a multistep process, including at least four consecutive years of full-time economic development work experience, completion of required core and elective competency courses, and passing a comprehensive exam that includes multiple-choice, essay, and an oral interview.

Howell’s pursuit of the CEcD underscores her deep commitment to professional growth and to the mission of advancing economic prosperity in Fond du Lac County. With this credential, she joins a nationwide network of economic development professionals recognized for excellence and leadership.

“As we continue shaping strong economic opportunities for Fond du Lac County, this certification ensures that we’re not only acting with passion and purpose — but also with professionalism, strategy, and a foundation of best practices,” said Howell. “I’m honored to bring this credential to Envision Greater Fond du Lac and to our community.”

Under Howell’s leadership, Envision has moved forward with clear strategic direction, including the creation and recent rollout of a five-year strategic plan built around aggressive goals for housing, workforce, business expansion, and talent attraction which set the tone for a focused, results-driven agenda for Fond du Lac County.
