Sabre women's soccer rallies to draw Vikings - Envision Greater Fond du Lac

Marian University women’s soccer (1-1-2, 0-0-0 NACC) rallied late to earn a 1-1 draw against Lawrence.

Lawrence came out strong to start the match, taking the first shot at the 7:31 mark.
The Vikings continued to control possession throughout much of the opening half and held an 8-4 advantage in shots in the first 45 minutes.
Lawrence was eventually able to break the scoreless tie at the 28:09 mark to take a 1-0 lead.
The Vikings held onto their advantage through the remainder of the opening half as Marian headed into halftime trailing 1-0.
The Sabres came out firing to start the second half, recording the first three shots of the second half within the opening five minutes.
The offensive pressure finally paid off late in the match when Anna Riley found the back of the net at the 86:56 mark to even the score.
Sophia Romo and Daniela Chaname each provided an assist on the equalizer.
Marian continued to push for the game-winner in the final minutes and earned one last opportunity with a corner kick at the 89:46 mark but were unable to capitalize leading to the draw.

Marian finished the match with eight total shots, including two shots on goal.
Lawrence held a 9-8 advantage in total shots, while both teams finished with four corner kicks.
Marian committed seven fouls, compared to 13 for Lawrence.
Marian is now 7-11-3 all-time against the Vikings with this being the second tie in four meetings.
