A 7-5 halftime lead slipped past Marian University women’s lacrosse (2-9, 1-3 NACC) in a 12-10 loss to Illinois Tech.
 

• The Sabres scored the first three goals of the game as part of an opening stanza that saw Marian take an early 5-1 lead.
• Freshman Elizabeth Van Ryzin had three of the Marian goals with two coming with a woman-up.
• The Scarlet Hawks scored the first three goals of the second quarter to only trail by one.
• Goals from sophomore Chloe Yanez and Van Ryzin put Marian ahead 7-5 at halftime.
• After trading goals to start, Illinois Tech scored the final two goals of the third quarter to tie the game at 8-8.
• Van Ryzin scored the opening two goals of the fourth quarter to put Marian back ahead 10-8.
• The Scarlet Hawks had an answer, however, scoring four unanswered to earn the win.

• Illinois Tech had a 33-21 advantage for shots in the game.
• The Scarlet Hawks also had a 28-23 edge in turnovers and 16-8 advantage in draw controls.
• Marian is now 4-2 all-time against Illinois Tech with the Scarlet Hawks snapping a four-game skid to Marian.

	Freshman Elizabeth Van Ryzin scored a career-high six goals.
	Sophomore Justice Cole had the first multi-goal game of her career.
	Sophomore Emma Johnson (2-8) stopped 13 shots, her fourth game with double-digit saves this season.
