Marian University women’s lacrosse (1-4, 0-0 NACC) was defeated by UW-Stevens Point 9-4 in its first home game of the season.
 

• The two sides traded goals to open the game with sophomore Chloe Yanez scoring for Marian.
• The Pointers then scored four straight goals to lead by five with 11:00 left in the second quarter.
• Freshman Elizabeth Van Ryzin scored a pair of goals to put Marian behidn 6-3 going into halftime.
• The second half was a defensive battle with the two sides combining for only four goals.
• Yanez scored a woman-up goal as the only goal for the Sabres as the final settled at 9-4.

• UWSP had a 26-19 margin for shots in the game with the second half seeing the Pointers only outshooting Marian 10-9.
• Each team had 38 turnovers.
• Marian was limited to just 17-of-31 (.548) on its clear attempts.
• The Pointers had a 10-5 edge in draw controls.
• The two teams have now split a pair of meetings.

	Sophomore Chloe Yanez had two goals to go with an assist and five ground balls.
	Freshman Talia Bellotti finished with six ground balls and five caused turnovers.
	Sophomore Emma Johnson (1-4) finished with 11 saves, her first game this season with double-digit saves.
