Marian University women’s ice hockey (4-8-0, 2-4-0-0 NCHA) fell to UW-Superior 6-2 in its opener of the Fondy Pot Invitational.

- The Sabres took control early when freshman Piper Miller scored the first goal of her career 3:56 in.
- UW-Superior quickly swung the momentum and dominated for most of the opening stanza scoring at the 7:10 and 14:27 marks to lead 2-1.
- Freshman Summer Mullin evened the score heading into the first intermission with the first goal of her career with 1:46 left in the period.
- Junior Logan Crawford earned an assist on the score.
- Marian went on a five-minute power play in the second period but it was UWS who scored with 4:32 in the stanza to lead 3-2 after two.
- Back-to-back power-play goals from UWS saw the Yellowjackets extend its lead to 5-2.
- UWS then iced the game scoring with just 5:58 left in the game.

- Marian was outshot 51-21 for the game and had 10 shots in the second period.
- The Yellowjackets held a 41-16 edge in faceoffs.
- The Sabres were scorless on six power-play chances, while UW-Superior finished 2-for-8.
- Marian is now 2-12-2 all-time against UW-Superior.
