Sabre women’s golf finishes runner-up at Fighting Scot Fall Invite

Marian University women’s golf had two of its best rounds this season with a 322 and 325 to finish second at the Fighting Scot Fall Invite.

  • Yinan Lu continued to pace the Sabres finishing third with rounds of 76 and 78.
  • Lu had three birdies between the two rounds.
  • Just one stroke behind Lu was Jessy Merrell who was tied for fourth with rounds of 76 and 79.
  • It was a strong bounce-back weekend for Katelyn Bucciarelli who had rounds of 86 and 83 to tie for 11th.
  • Kadence Ulrich scored in the first round with an 84 and finished 13th, while Allison Cink scored in the second round with an 85.
  • A second Marian team finished seventh and improved by 13 strokes between rounds.
  • Hailie Knudtson led the way finishing 15th with rounds of 86 and 87.
  • Trinity Knudtson had an 11-stroke improvement between rounds carding an 84 in the second round.
  • Next in for the Sabres was Kaydence Harp who had a 98 and 93, while Caroline Gates was consistent with a 96 and 98.
  • Taylor Schaefer rounded out the squad with a 104 in the first round.
  • Coe finished atop the team standings led by Lia Maxwell who finished nine-over-par to earn medalist recognition.
