Sabre women’s bowling shows consistency at Windy City Classic

Marian University women’s bowling finished with nearly identical scores in Baker and traditional play at the Windy City Classic.

  • Marian opened the event in eighth place after going 4-1 in Baker play.
  • The Sabres averaged 173.5 pins, 4,337 total, with a high game of 934 and a low score of 840.
  • The victories for Marian included over No. 15 McKendree and No. 13 UW-Whitewater.
  • Marian slipped a spot after going for 4,329 pins in traditional play but a record of 7-3.
  • The top four Sabres finished within 12 pins of each other ranging from 22nd to 26th.
  • Marian was able to earn another key victory defeating No. 10 Maryville 903-889.
  • In the first match of bracket play, Marian took the third game but fell to Western Illinois in five games after going for a 245 and 244 to close it out.
  • Marian bounced back its next match defeating Indianapolis in six games after falling behind 2-0.
  • The Sabres then faced Western Illinois for a second straight time but were defeated in six games.

Delanie Vogt led Marian in traditional play with a 178.8 average.  Her first game was a 205.
Elana Rimer had a high game of 222 and finished with an average of 177.4.
Madison Carriveau also had a 177.4 average with a high game of 197.
