Sabre women’s bowling finishes 15th at Flyer Classic

Marian University women’s bowling completed finished 15th out of 22 teams at a competitive Flyer Classic event.

  • Marian was consistent finishing with the 15th-highest total in both Baker and traditional.
  • The Sabres had two games above 900 pins with a high of 944 in Baker format finishing with 4,426 pins.
  • Then in the five traditional matches, the Sabres had a total of 4,743 with a 1,012 in the first match.
  • This gave Marian a total of 12,806 pins or a 188.0 average.
  • Marian opened bracket play against Lewis and overcame a 2-1 deficit to defeat the Flyers in six games.
  • The Sabres finished with scores of 238, 225, and 224.
  • Then against Valparaiso, the two squads would go the full seven games where Maran dropped the decider by a slim 182-180 score.
  • Marian had four games above 200 pins in the match.
  • The final match of bracket play saw Marian take care of Aurora easily defeating the Spartans in five games.
  • Marian had two games above 200 pins and finished the event with a 196-123 victory.
  • The 14 teams that finished ahead of Marian were all in the latest top 25 rankings from the NTCA.

Junior Elana Rimer finished 39th averaging 200.0 pins.  She had three games with at last 200 pins.
Senior Jocelynn Eggert averaged 199.8 to finish 41st.  Eggert opened with games of 213 and 257.
Junior Kyley Olson was just one spot behind Eggert finishing with one less pin.  She had a high game of 256 to open the event.
