Marian University women’s basketball received 101 points to finish 10th in the NACC preseason poll.
Wisconsin Lutheran was picked as the favorite to win the conference with 327 points and 16 first-place votes. St. Norbert was only six points behind the Warriors at 321 points and 10 first-place tallies. The next four schools finished with more than 200 points beginning with Aurora at 262. Benedictine, 240, MSOE, 235, and Concordia Wisconsin, 234, were then all separated by only six points. Edgewood and Lakeland then closed out the preseason NACC Tournament picks at 182 and 161 points, respectively.
The first team out was Illinois Tech at 110 with the Sabres just nine points behind the Scarlet Hawks. Concordia Chicago then followed Marian at 82. Dominican and Rockford were separated by only five points to close out the poll.
The school with the best record in the regular season will be crowned the conference champion with the top eight teams earning a spot in the NACC Tournament. The winner of the NACC Tournament will earn an automatic bid into the NCAA Division III Tournament.
Marian opens the season at home Saturday, November 8 when the Sabres take on Dubuque for a 1 p.m. tip.
