Sabre softball swept at final day of THE Spring Games

Marian University softball (6-4, 0-0 NACC) finished its spring trip falling to Ursinus 7-1 and No. 1 Trine 6-0.

GAME 1 (URSINUS – L, 7-1)

  •  A quick start from Ursinus saw the Bears take advantage of Marian errors to take a 5-0 lead after two innings.
  • Sophomore Ariana Schliepp would double in a run in the third, but it proved to be the lone tally for the Sabres.
  • Ursinus would plate a run in the fourth and seventh to put the final score at 7-1.
  • Of the seven Ursinus runs, only two were earned runs.

GAME 2 (No. 1 TRINE – L, 6-0)

  • The offense continued to have a tough day in game two as the Sabres took on the top-ranked team in the nation.
  • Trine would bring in three runs in the third and three more in the sixth.
  • The Sabres were nearly no hit but Schliepp was able to record a hit with two outs in the seventh.

GAME 1 / 2

Freshman McKenna Repovich tossed 6.0 innings against Ursinus allowing just two earned runs.
Sophomore Ariana Schliepp had a hit in both games and drove in the lone Marian run.
Freshman Sabrina Di Vito (3-3) went 5.0 innings against No. 1 Trine allowing just three runs.
